Hocking Valley Scenic Railway

Location: 33 W. Canal Street, Nelsonville, OH
Phone: 1-800-967-7834
All Aboard!

The Hocking Valley Scenic Railway transports passengers back to a simpler time when the locomotive was the most efficient form of transportation.

The passenger cars, meticulously restored by volunteers, are historic treasures unto their own: a former B&O heavyweight combination baggage and passenger car built in 1918, three Rock Island commuter cars built in the 1920s, and the latest addition – a heavyweight day-coach railcar which originally served the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad through the 1950s.

The cars run on the same tracks used in the late 1800s and early 1900s to transport coal to central Ohio and on up to Lake Erie.

Rain or shine, trains depart from the Nelsonville Depot (at the corner of West Canal Street and Hocking Parkway, next to Rocky's) every weekend in 2013 from May 18th through the last weekend of October. Special event trains are scheduled throughout the year and are posted on our website.

Saturday & Sunday Departures:

14-mile round trip to Haydenville - noon (1 hour 45 min. ride)

22-mile round trip to Logan - 2:30 pm (2 hour 15 min. ride)
